The second phase of Odisha assembly elections will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls scheduled to be held on May 20, 2024.

Candidates with criminal charges
Of the 265 candidates, 87 (33%) have filed criminal charges against themselves.
In the first phase of parliamentary elections, 65 of 243 candidates filed criminal charges against themselves.

Five of the candidates have declared murder-related cases (IPC Section -302) against themselves.

Sixteen candidates declared cases related to attempt to murder (Section 307 IPC) against themselves.
Candidates with cases related to crimes against women
Eleven candidates reported cases related to crimes against women.
Electoral districts where an emergency warning has been issued
The report also states that 14 out of 35 constituencies, or 40%, are red alert constituencies. Red alert districts are districts where three or more candidates have criminal charges filed against them.
