Long Beach once again made its presence felt in postseason track and field competition, as Wilson’s girls team won back-to-back CIF state titles, Long Beach Polytechnic’s boys team won a CIF state title and the Bruins and Jackrabbits swept Long Beach in the CIF state track and field finals on Saturday in Clovis.
With 96 men’s and 95 women’s teams competing, Long Beach performed admirably, with both teams reaching the top of the podium. Millikan and Jordan also won bronze medals in the individual events.
